Design Thinking

Do design before you think design.

Who it's for

Mid-management leaders and high-performance teams

The hook

Teams rarely fail at solving problems. They fail because they solved a well-articulated version of the wrong one.

Intent · Build the culture and muscle to start with the human, work backwards, and prototype solutions that create emotional delight — not feature parity.

Take this if

Six signals you are leaking this value

01

No design culture — design arrives at the end

02

'Who is my customer?' has three different answers internally

03

Innovation happens only when leadership demands it

04

Solutions are chosen before problems are framed

05

Prototypes are pixel-perfect and too late

06

Value is argued, never validated

About the course

Design thinking is not a process to install; it is a flow canvas that moves user pain to impactful opportunity — the kind that shapes how someone works or lives.

We empower teams with a lucid methodology and tooling: find the human story, sketch the struggle, build the pain-to-opportunity map, and prototype rapidly against it.

2026 additions: AI-accelerated synthesis (and where it lies to you), designing for agentic and multi-modal interfaces, and inclusive/accessibility-first framing as a default rather than a retrofit.

Tools you will use

  • Journey & pain maps
  • Opportunity matrix
  • Storyboards
  • Rapid prototyping kit
  • Evidence synthesis board

Prerequisite

Mindset, empathy, curiosity — and a real challenge to work on.

Curriculum

What we cover, hour by hour

Week 1 · Empathise and frame

  • Human story capture and struggle interviews
  • Journey and pain mapping
  • Reframing: from solution request to problem statement
  • Opportunity mapping with impact scoring

Week 2 · Ideate and prototype

  • Divergence discipline: quantity before judgment
  • Concept sketching and storyboarding
  • Low-fidelity prototypes in hours, not sprints
  • AI-assisted concept generation and its failure modes

Week 3 · Validate and embed

  • Testing for value at product, experience and business layers
  • Evidence synthesis without confirmation bias
  • ROI framing for management buy-in
  • Embedding the cycle into your operating rhythm

Key takeaways

  • Apply — not just understand — design culture
  • Transform teams into HCD practitioners
  • The do-design cycle end to end
  • Find your opportunity and your customer
  • Build multi-experiential products
  • Validate value at product, experience and business
  • Product conceptualisation
  • ROI framing for management buy-in

You leave with

  • Reframed problem statement
  • Opportunity map
  • Tested prototype
  • Management ROI brief
